Prenuptial Agreements

A prenuptial agreement is a written agreement entered into by a couple that intend to marry or form a civil partnership.

The agreement will seek to define financial arrangements following separation.

At this time, prenuptial agreements are not enforceable in English law. However, many people can see the benefit of such agreement. Following divorce/dissolution of a civil partnership the existence of a prenuptial agreement is a factor that will be taken into account by the court.
